There was a time that when I thought of Building Automation I thought of the Sears Towers and other large landmarks with millions of square feet in automated spaces. That was where you first saw Building Automation Systems (BAS) because you had to be able to cost justify the high costs of the automation, and the only place it made financial sense was in the largest spaces. Over time BAS costs came down, the technology got better, the installers honed their craft and the size of buildings that could justify the cost came down.

Many times over the last few years we have been asked to share our experiences in Small to Mid-Size Building Automation, but we felt a blog was too much. Finally we decided a Journal type format would be very interesting to those that needed simple and specific info about automation that you could only find from those that do it every day.
